NSWO Officers
President Elysia McGill is a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Falls City, NE where she serves as an assistant minister, choir member, worship leader, and liturgist. She is an active member and founder of her Café group and is serving as the president of the women’s organization at St. Paul’s. Elysia was the NSWO Southeast Board Member (2013-2015), NSWO Vice President (2015-2019), and currently serves on the Nebraska Synod Council. She has served as an adult chaperone to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans, and attend ed the Triennial Gatherings in Charlotte and Minneapolis where she also served as a voting member, and helps out in her church any time she can.
Elysia is married to Matt and they have two daughters, Madyson, a police officer for the Spring Hills, KS Police Dept., and Pyper who is in her second year at Wayne State College. Elysia is an elementary music teacher in Sabetha, KS, faculty advisor for the SHS SADD Chapter, and is an active clinician for area schools. She enjoys sharing her singing talents and sings in many area choirs. Elysia loves serving and showing her daughters and other women what BOLD women look like!
Vice President Carol Stark is a happy and proud mom and nana. She has three children, one daughter-in-law and seven grandchildren. Carol has worked for Nebraska Plastics for thirty-one-and-a-half years. She is currently helping with pulpit supply for the Sonrise Parish. In the past Carol has been on the church council and was an assisting worship leader. She has taught Sunday school and organized their Autumn Fall Salad Luncheon. Carol likes to read and color. She also likes to help with what ever is needed at her church.
Secretary Pastor Sarah Ruch serves as the Associate Pastor for Local Outreach and Mission at Sheridan Lutheran Church in Lincoln. She lives in Lincoln with her husband, Pastor Miles; and children, Hannah (20), Caleb (16), and Aaron (12). She has previously served in Swedehome, Rising City, Aurora, Concord, and Allen, Nebraska. When not attending activities for her children or work, she enjoys crocheting, zentangling, and reading.
Treasurer Julie Reiser is a lifetime member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Spencer, NE, where she is the treasurer for both the church and the WELCA group. Julie is married to Marvin, stepmother to Chris (Jaime) and Nancy, mom to Marla (Eric) and Peter. And she is called grandma by Kenly, 10, and Harper, 7. Julie is a personal banker for Butte State Bank and the secretary for Butte Community Club. Her happy place is in the kitchen kneading bread or stirring up cookies to share with friends.
Julie's term as treasurer begins February 1, 2024. She was appointed by the board November 18, 2023, to fill the vacancy, 11/19/2023 to 1/31/2024.
